Griffin Direct offer a variety of mailing services and solutions
from data processing and personalisation through to enclosing.
Our experienced team are here to guide you through that process
usually beginning with the receipt of data files.
Data
Data files are supplied either by e-mail or on CD. These
contain the names, addresses and other relevant details of
the people you want to mail. If your data doesn't require
any processing and is ready to mail then we just need to load
it onto our system, reformat it so that it 'talks' to the
software packages that our personalisation machines use and
begin the proofing process.
Alternatively, data often requires some verification or
manipulation before it can be output, which may involve running
any or a combination of the following : List Merging, De-dupe,
MPS, Mortascreen, NCOA etc. For plain English explanations
of these terms, please go to
Explaining the jargon' page.
All our data processing services are compliant with the data
protection act and DMA guidlines, ensuring complete confidentiality.
We never carry out any data work without your instructions
or consent, and any data you supply to us is securely stored
throughout and can either be returned to you or destroyed
upon completion of your mailing - whichever is your preference.
Proofing
Proofing is a crucial element of any Direct Mail campaign.
Without providing examples of what the finished piece is going
to look like, how would you know whether you were happy with
what you were going to get? Proofs of the live data and letter
text will be available for you to check prior to laser printing
commencing, giving you the opportunity to make any necessary
amends.
Personalisation - Laser Printing
There are two methods of laser printing - either on cut sheet
stationery or continuous. The most appropriate method is usually
dictated by the volume of the mailing, although there are
no hard and fast rules. For larger run jobs, continuous stationery
is more cost effective than cut sheet - largely due to the
fact that it can be processed faster. Stationery can be lasered
either simplex (one side) or duplex (both sides), and the
finished printed item will be identical to your approved proof.
Finishing
After laser printing is complete stationery often needs cutting
down to its finished size and / or folding up ready to go
into envelopes.
Enclosing
In the case of traditional mailpacks, the final stage of
production is to collate all the items and enclose them into
the outer envelope following your preferred sequence.
Mail Out
Mailpacks are prepared for a daily Royal Mail collection
and then dispersed throughout the system ready for delivery
to households.
